Stephan is a designer and strategist who strives to create highly valuable product and user experiences. During his career in producing delightful designs and holistic brand strategies, he has collaborated with small start-ups as well as with international operating brands to develop award-winning user-centric products, systems and services for tomorrow.
Stephan studied at the University of Wuppertal (Germany) and at the Umeå Institute of Design (Sweden). He holds a bachelor's degree (BA) in Industrial Design and a master's degree (MA) in Industrial Design & Design Strategy which he received with honors in 2010.
Early in his career, Stephan joined IDEO LLC in Chicago, where he gathered user and market insights, created industrial designs and product portfolios, as well as developed and tested user experiences and brand strategies for various clients in fields such as home appliances, medical, automotive, power tools, sporting goods and more (clients included Samsung, Covidien, Ford & Lincoln, Chervon and Brooks Running).
As director of his own design agency in Frankfurt am Main, he later continued to bring innovations to life (from idea to market) for brands such as Braun, Oral-B, Gillette, Jägermeister and Jupiduu, among others. Here he led innovation workshops and front-end innovation projects as well as production stewardships.
